Our Mission
Our Mission at FBC Merkel is to transform the hearts of people into a close and personal relationship with Jesus where they know Him as Lord, King and Savior. We are all about leading everyday people towards becoming fully devoted followers of Christ!
Our Beliefs
At FBC Merkel we affirm the Holy Spirit as the inspired Word of God and the basis for our beliefs. Fbc Merkel subscribes to the doctrinal statement of The Baptist Faith and Message as adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention in 2000. We voluntarily band together as a body of baptized believers in Jesus Christ personally committed to sharing the good news of salvation to lost mankind. The ordinances of the church are believers baptism and the Lord's Supper.
Purpose of the Church
Being empowered by the Holy Spirit, the purpose of the FBC Merkel are based upon a Great Commitment to the Great Commission of Christ in Matthew 28:18-20 and the Great Commandments in Matthew 22:35-40.
The church shall have a missionary and evangelistic outreach for all unreached people in our immediate area and around the world, and shall endeavor to provide a total Christian ministry to each church member and other within our sphere of influence.
All FBC facilities will only be utilized for purposes that reflect the Baptist Faith and Message, 2000.
These purposes shall be accomplished through the following functions of the church: worship, witness, education, fellowship, and ministry.
