VBS 2008 HIGHLIGHTS
Thanks to Clesta Boone for a great job of directing our VBS. Thanks also to all of our teachers, workers, helpers, music, transpor- tation, craft workers, recreation, refreshments, records, and to everyone who helped in any way with VBS. A special thanks to all who brought cookies, kool-aid, and other food. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.
A special thanks to Allen Lovelace, Galen Boone, Terry Vaughn, and others who helped roast the pig and all of the other work that was done on Thursday night.
We had over 300 people who came to our Family Night/West Texas Luau. If you missed it, you missed a great treat(pig roasted in the ground), hot dogs, fruit, cookies, and lots of good fellowship.
Thanks also to a great church which loves boys and girls and their parents.
I hope that everyone realizes that it takes every one of us working together to have a great VBS. Each and every job is vital and there is no unimportant job.
We had a fantastic time. We averaged 179 kids and 56 workers for an average attendance of 235. We had a total enrollment of 296. We had 27 boys and girls who prayed to receive Christ and one who came for baptism on Thursday night. We are thrilled about their decisions.
Thanks to all who gave to our penny offering for missions. We gave over 250 pound of pennies and other coins. The offering totaled $637.61. That was a bunch of pennies! Way to go kids and adults.
The boys won the contest 3-2, but missions is the winner. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.
Remember that VBS is not over. This Thursday and also next Thursday, we will meet at 6:30 for our VBS Follow-up. We will go and visit in the homes of these precious boys and girls. Come and be a part of this exciting time of reaching out to our neighbors.

Get ready for VBS 2009. “Boomerang Express” It All Comes Back to Jesus.
Only God knows what all that will bring to FBCM. Our workers have said that it won’t involve roasting a pig in a pit in June. How about a kangaroo or a Tasmanian devil? Just kidding.
